Privacy

The short version: I collect as little as possible, I never track you, and I will never sell, rent, share, or forward your information to anyone.

The newsletter

  • What I store: only your email address, whether you've confirmed, and the dates involved. No name, and not even your IP address.
  • Why: solely to send you new posts, which you asked for by confirming your subscription (double opt-in). Nothing else.
  • No tracking: emails contain no open-tracking pixels and no click-tracking links. I have no idea whether, when, or where you open them — by design.
  • No selling or sharing: your email is never sold, rented, shared, or forwarded. Ever. There is no advertising and no third-party marketing.
  • Who else touches it: two service providers act only on my behalf and have no right to use your data for their own purposes — Postmark to deliver the email, and DigitalOcean to host the database.
  • Unsubscribing = deletion: every email has a one-click unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your address is permanently deleted from the list — not just flagged. The same applies if your address hard-bounces or reports spam.
  • Backups: the subscriber list is backed up in encrypted form for disaster recovery and rotated out on a short schedule.
  • Security logs: the mail service keeps short-lived request logs to catch abuse, but your IP address is stored only as a one-way keyed hash — never in the clear.

The website

The site uses Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that sets no cookies and collects no personal data — just anonymous, aggregate page counts. There are no ad trackers.
